#30DaysWild day 10: Tea up a tree

When I asked Bug Mad Girl what she wanted to do for 30 Days Wild, the first thing she thought of was tea up a tree. So today we surprised the kids by taking them up the hills after we picked them up from school. We went to our favourite 'Robin Hood' tree for a picnic in its branches. It's a fantastic old beech tree, with plenty of good climbing branches and some handy places to sit. You can really imaging Robin Hood and his merry men sat up in it, but today it was us (even I made it up into the tree!)

The chocolate brownies and strawberries didn't last long!

Couldn't resist a bit of tree climbing while we were up there

After tea we climbed up to the top of the hill and admired the view...

... then the kids rolled down the hill!

On the way home we saw a kestrel hovering overhead, a beautiful peacock butterfly and Bug Mad Girl found a lesser stag beetle on the path. What a brilliant adventure!
