The sparrow family have been out in force and have had a lovely time bouncing around and "chapping" to each other. They love nothing better than to flick the food out of a feeder, picking out the bits they like best and throwing the rest on the floor. They've emptied two feeders this morning alone! They also can't resist mealworms and pick them up in their beaks so they look like they've got a cigar in their mouths.
Two blackbirds have been around all morning. Looks like they may be some of the babies that were in the garden during the summer, as they're still getting their adult feathers. One in particular looks like the feathers on it's head are just starting to grow.
There have also been Robins, Dunnocks, Great Tits and Blue Tits around.
The most exciting moment has to be when a family of long-Tailed Tits visited the feeders. I heard them first, with their high pitched 'see-see-see' chatter, then one appeared on a feeder, followed by two more. They only stayed a few minutes, then moved on. There may have been more in the bushes, as they often travel around in large groups. We don't very often see them in the garden, but it's lovely when they do put in an appearance. They look like tiny little mice and are very sweet and pretty.

I also spotted what I think is a Chiff Chaff. It wasn't on the feeders, but was flitting around the bushes just above them.

It's been a very busy morning on the patio - perhaps the birds know the bad weather is on the way!
