More humming and hovering for today ... we've just seen a Hummingbird Hawk Moth feeding on some Phlox by the patio. I saw it out of the kitchen window and thought it was a great big bee at first, then realized what it was. I just had time to grab the camera and Bug Mad Girl and dash outside. It stayed on the flowers for a few minutes, but was too small and fast to get a photo. Then it circled around us a couple of times and headed off over the house.
We're both very excited as it's the first one either of us have seen. That's made my day!
