Hanging on by your toenails

Stumpy, our squirrel with half a tail, was raiding the bird feeders this morning.  The other squirrels wrap their tail around the branch and hang upside down to steal the food. Stumpy hasn't got enough tail to do that, so he has to hang on tight by the ends of his toe nails. He seems to manage just fine! 

Later in the morning, he chewed through the rope holding up half a coconut shell and headed off down the garden with the coconut shell full of bird food in his mouth. He looked just like a dog!
