Once in a blue moon

We had a blue moon last night, which is when we have a second full moon in the same calendar month. Not exactly rare but unusual, with the next one due in 2018.

I watched the moon come up over the Chilterns from the front of the house. It really was very beautiful. I'd secretly hoped it would be at least slightly blue, but it turned out to be quite pink!

The view of the sunset from the back garden was pretty nice too!
